Reflection I

Reflection I combines angular fields of ochre, crimson, green and black with fragments of handwritten text. Thick impasto and intersecting planes create a fractured surface in which words appear and disappear, encouraging the eye to move between colour, texture and meaning. The painting treats reflection not as a single answer, but as an ongoing process of looking, remembering and reconsidering.
